Brampton context
A lot of the two-storey stucco homes in Castlemore, Vales of Castlemore, and Gore Meadows have hairline stucco cracks that let water in every spring. We repair those with elastomeric patching compound and top-coat with a flexible acrylic that bridges any future micro-movement. On brick homes in Downtown Brampton and Bramalea, we recommend a breathable mineral-silicate paint that lets the brick release moisture — regular acrylic on old brick traps water and causes spalling. The right product matters as much as the technique.

Full pressure-wash to remove chalking, dirt, algae — then 48 hours to dry.

Repair
Scrape loose paint, caulk every seam, patch stucco cracks, prime bare wood.

Stain-blocking bonding primer where needed — not just on bare spots.

Two coats of premium exterior acrylic, brushed and rolled or sprayed with back-rolling.

Why it matters
The Ontario climate is brutal on exterior paint. A properly prepped and top-quality coating lasts 10–15 years; a rushed job lasts 2–3. The material cost is nearly identical — what you're paying for is the prep, and the prep is what we don't cut.

When is exterior painting season in Brampton?+
Late April through mid-October, when overnight temperatures reliably stay above 5°C. We book most exterior work March–August for that window.
Do you paint aluminum siding?+
Yes. Chalked aluminum needs a wash, an oxidation-etching primer, and a 100% acrylic top coat. Done properly it looks better than new and holds up for 10+ years.
Can you paint over stucco cracks permanently?+
We fill and bridge them with elastomeric patch and top-coat with flexible acrylic. That handles normal movement. If cracks are structural, we recommend addressing the underlying cause before painting.
What about brick — should I paint it?+
It's a one-way decision, so we walk you through it carefully. If you do paint brick, it must be with a breathable mineral or silicate paint or the brick will trap moisture and spall in winter. We never use standard acrylic on brick.
